Position Overview NACS, the association that represents the global convenience and fuel retailing industry, currently seeks a driven, solutions-oriented, creative thinker as the Director, Retail Engagement. This position is responsible for engaging new and existing member companies and their employees to become more active participants in the association. The position is a part of the Retail Engagement Team and leverages the Membership Support Team and other NACS teams to drive and support member engagement. Capitalizing on volunteer and member engagement, positive member experiences, and a strong organizational brand, the Director, Retail Engagement, works across the association to ensure the value proposition of NACS engagement is effectively communicated to the industry. Scope of Responsibilities: To promote the NACS brand and culture by supporting: NACS brand promise: An industry champion that connects and inspires our members to deliver tomorrow’s convenience today & every day. NACS’ brand values: Integrity, Excellence, Curious, Insights, and Inclusive. NACS’ brand personality: Proactive, Constructive, Engaging, and Optimistic. To assist the VP, Retail Engagement, Research, & Education in developing and communicating the value proposition of NACS engagement and membership both externally to the industry and internally to the NACS Team. To assist the VP, Retail Engagement with the development of and achieving goals based on the strategic retail engagement goals including: KPIs & Metrics to deliver against: Event Engagement targets (#’s & %’s) “Max Your NACS” participation goals and ensuring that individual metrics records in NACS’ database are accurate (#’s) Member renewal rate goals (%’s) Bull’s Eye Target company engagement growth ( Passionate, forward-thinking companies who want to stay ahead of the curve and be “in the know” ) (#’s) Board and Committee member engagement targets (#’s) To develop and maintain professional relationships with leaders of NACS retail member companies with a focus on the medium size domestic retail companies (10 to 200 stores). Ensuring that the larger medium size companies and bull’s eye target retailers and their employees are especially aware of and engage in the full complement of NACS events, activities, products, and services. To assist the VP, Retail Engagement in developing annual budgets and quarterly reports. To utilize and support marketing concepts and campaigns to obtain new members and retain and engage existing members. To respond to general membership inquiries from retail companies related to applications and renewals and communicate to the Membership Support Team to process. To proactively engage and assist members and attendees at the NACS Show and other NACS events. Other duties as determined in the normal course of business. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree. Minimum of five years in convenience and fuel industry experience in an executive level position with a retailer, supplier, service provider company or in an industry association with comparable job experience. Self-starter with the ability to work alone or as part of a group. Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple activities at once. Strong written and oral communications skills. Expected travel on NACS business approximately 50-60 percent. Experience Desired: Previous experience as an engaged NACS member. Familiarity with CRM and Microsoft UX 365. Background in and a passion for sales. Background in public speaking.
