Senior Full-Stack Engineer

Description The company is hiring a Senior Full-Stack Engineer in Portugal who is strongly backend-leaning (≈80–85% backend) to work on high-scale backend pipelines and data-heavy systems. The ideal engineer has proven experience building production-grade ingestion and processing systems, making architecture decisions based on real data volumes, and operating reliably in Kubernetes/AWS environments. Occasional frontend work exists (small UI tasks/new pages), but the core of the job is backend systems design and implementation. Requirements Requirements: TypeScript + Node.js (production experience) NestJS (strong preference, used as the main backend framework) Strong experience designing backend systems at high scale: autoscaling, HA, performance, resilience, failure modes Strong knowledge of event-driven systems: Kafka-based ingestion/streaming, producers/consumers, pipelines, batching concepts PostgreSQL / SQL proficiency (deep skills required: schema modeling, query optimization) Kafka (hands-on experience strongly preferred) Redis (working knowledge) Experience working in AWS + Kubernetes environments (production familiarity expected) Practical experience with logs, metrics, tracing to monitor and debug production systems.
