Job Description

One of Arca’s U.S.-based clients is looking for an accomplished Senior Video Editor with exceptional storytelling instincts. To apply fill out this form: This is not a role for someone who simply assembles footage, follows templates, or relies on flashy effects. Our client needs an editor who can understand what a video is trying to communicate, find the story within the raw material, and make intentional creative decisions that serve that story. You should be able to explain why a particular shot belongs in a sequence, why a moment is paced a certain way, how B-roll supports the message, and why the music fits the emotional direction of the piece. The work will primarily consist of long-form YouTube videos, brand stories, interviews, testimonials, educational content, and commercial productions. What you'll do Turn raw footage into polished, story-driven long-form videos Find the central narrative, strongest moments, and emotional direction within the footage Make independent editorial decisions about structure, sequencing, pacing, and tone Use B-roll intentionally to clarify ideas, reinforce meaning, and maintain audience engagement Select music that supports the story rather than distracting from it Edit interviews and testimonials into clear, persuasive narratives Create brand and website videos that communicate what a company does, who it serves, and why it matters Improve viewer retention without compromising the professionalism or substance of the content Perform professional color correction, audio cleanup, sound design, and finishing Incorporate titles, lower thirds, motion graphics, and other visual elements when they strengthen the story Manage feedback and revisions efficiently while maintaining a consistently high standard Keep footage, project files, assets, and exports meticulously organized Communicate proactively with the client and meet agreed production deadlines What our client is looking for At least four years of professional video-editing experience Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro A portfolio containing exceptional long-form work Demonstrated experience with YouTube videos, interviews, testimonials, brand films, commercial content, or documentary-style storytelling The ability to turn unstructured footage into a clear and compelling narrative Strong judgment around pacing, music, B-roll, color, sound, and emotional tone A clear understanding of the goal behind each video and the response it should create in the audience Confidence making creative and structural decisions without needing every cut prescribed High professional standards and exceptional attention to detail The ability to receive detailed feedback from a highly experienced editor and apply it constructively Excellent written and spoken English Reliable communication, organization, and deadline management A computer capable of handling professional footage and large Premiere Pro projects Fast, reliable internet and sufficient local storage for large media files Full availability during U.S. business hours Experience with After Effects, motion graphics, Adobe Photoshop, or DaVinci Resolve is valuable but secondary to storytelling ability and Premiere Pro expertise. Portfolio Expectation Your portfolio must include at least one complete long-form project that represents the best work you have produced. Short-form reels, compilations, and rapid social edits alone will not be considered sufficient. Our client wants to evaluate your ability to build and sustain a story—not simply create a collection of visually impressive moments. You should be prepared to discuss the editorial decisions behind your work, including: How you found and structured the story Why you made specific pacing decisions How you selected and placed B-roll Why the music and sound design fit the piece What the video was intended to make its audience understand, feel, or do Selection Process Because our client has extensive professional editing experience and a high quality bar, shortlisted candidates will complete a practical editing assessment using footage supplied by the client. The assessment will evaluate storytelling, structure, pacing, music selection, B-roll usage, technical execution, attention to detail, and the reasoning behind your editorial choices. This is a long-term opportunity for a serious editor who takes pride in the craft, welcomes thoughtful creative feedback, and wants to produce work at a genuinely professional standard.
