Estimator / Project Controls Engineer

About PrimECS PrimECS is a U.S.-based civil construction and engineering company supporting infrastructure projects across the United States. We are building a high-performing remote team to support estimating, design, and project delivery. Role We are looking for an Estimator / Project Controls Engineer to handle cost estimating, tracking, and project controls for infrastructure projects. This is not a support role. You will be responsible for building estimates, tracking costs, and improving systems. This role is execution-focused. You are expected to work independently, build structure, and deliver accurate outputs. Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates for infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, civil works) Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing (labor, materials, equipment) Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements Track project costs and monitor budget vs. actual performance Support cost forecasting and reporting Develop Excel-based tools and templates for estimating and reporting Improve and standardize cost control processes Coordinate with estimating, project management, and finance teams Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field Minimum 5 years experience (10+ preferred) in estimating or project controls Experience in infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, civil) Strong understanding of construction methods, labor, equipment, and materials Strong Excel skills (required) Analytical and detail-oriented Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Must be able to work in U.S. EST business hours Reliable internet connection Compensation & Benefits Competitive monthly pay (based on experience) Long-term opportunity with growth Originally posted on Himalayas
