Job Title: CAD/CAM Lead Location: Remote (Work from Home), core hours aligned to U.S. business hours Type of Contract: Full-Time | Remote (assumed based on source) Salary Range: OTE $4000 USD/month (above target up to $8,000 USD/ Month) Language Requirements: Fluent English (Written & Verbal) Our client is seeking a skilled CAD/CAM Lead with experience in 3D modeling, fabrication-ready drafting, and client-facing design consultations to join their growing team. You will play a key role in leading the custom sauna design process from initial client conversations through final production drawings. Your work will directly impact fabrication accuracy, installation success, and the continued growth of their custom sauna business. Key Responsibilities Lead discovery meetings with clients via video, phone, and email to understand project requirements, site conditions, and design goals. Translate customer measurements, photos, and site constraints into accurate, buildable 3D models using CAD software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar platforms. Develop and refine custom sauna concepts based on customer feedback while ensuring designs remain manufacturable and code-conscious. Produce fabrication-ready production drawings, cut lists, and technical specifications for fabrication and installation teams. Design with consideration for electrical requirements, ventilation, structural constraints, material selection, and installation clearances. Collaborate closely with sales, installers, and leadership to improve workflows and support the expansion of custom design capabilities. Help establish design standards, templates, and repeatable processes to improve efficiency as the custom business scales. Must-Have Qualifications 3+ years of experience in CAD/CAM design, drafting, architecture, manufacturing, millwork, industrial design, or a related field. Demonstrated proficiency with CAD software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or comparable 3D modeling platforms. Proven ability to create fabrication-ready drawings rather than visualization-only designs. Strong spatial reasoning with experience translating real-world site conditions into practical, buildable solutions. Excellent client communication skills with confidence leading design consultations and managing expectations. High attention to detail with the ability to deliver accurate production documentation that minimizes fabrication and installation errors. Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently while managing projects from concept through production handoff. Reliable high-speed internet and a computer capable of running professional CAD software efficiently. Preferred Qualifications Experience designing custom millwork, cabinetry, modular structures, or similar fabricated products. Working knowledge of wood construction, structural fabrication, or manufacturing processes. Experience with CNC/CAM toolpath generation. Previous experience designing saunas, spas, outdoor structures, or similar custom-built products. Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Design, or a related discipline (preferred but not required with equivalent hands-on experience). Originally posted on Himalayas
