Job Description

Position Title: Senior Regulatory Compliance Specialist and Team Leader (Internal Applicants Only) Reports to: Manager - Global Regulatory Compliance Location: Fully Distributed - Remote Job Level: Level 11 (In Grade Promotion) Closing date for Applications: COB Tuesday 14th July 2026) Purpose: As a Senior Regulatory Compliance Specialist and Team Lead at Adherent, you will combine deep regulatory expertise with people leadership to drive the success of your team and ensure the delivery of high-quality regulatory content. You will lead, mentor, and support a team of Regulatory Analysts and Specialists, guiding their development, managing performance, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture. In addition to your leadership responsibilities, you will play a vital role in monitoring and interpreting global regulatory developments across diverse product and safety areas. You will ensure accurate, high-quality content is created and reviewed for publication in our C2P database, supporting both internal stakeholders and external clients. As a subject matter expert, you will respond to customer queries, contribute to thought leadership through written content and webinars, and support the integration and validation of AI-driven regulatory tools. Key Responsibilities: KRA​ ​1:​ ​ Leadership and Management Lead, mentor, develop, motivate and inspire a team of Regulatory Compliance Specialists/Analysts. Set performance goals with your team members, conduct quarterly evaluations and provide direction, instruction and guidance on meeting those goals; Ensure all performance plan reviews are conducted in a timely and professional manner; Identify and respond to training needs of your team were applicable; Lead by setting a good example & being a role model; Foster a collaborative and close team spirit through openness & good communication practices, such as one to ones and team meetings; Communicate regularly to the Senior Director Global Regulatory Compliance Team on the work of your team, their progress and other relevant items, flagging any issues as a priority; Conduct quality reviews on a sampling basis of regulatory content entered by self releasing Regulatory Compliance Specialists and Analysts. Ensure that all released content adheres to established quality and consistency standards, implementing corrections and providing guidance as needed. Initiate and manage improvement plans for Regulatory Compliance Specialists/Analysts who are not yet ready to self-release content, ensuring continuous quality reviews for those team members who are self-releasing. Regularly review individual team members' queues to ensure timely management and completion of assigned tasks, proactively addressing delays or workload imbalances. As Per All Senior Global Regulatory Compliance Specialists the following KRAs KRA 2: Subject Matter Expertise (SME) Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of Adherent’s key regulatory topics, sectors and geographical areas of coverage; Act as the ‘‘go to’ lead person for your specific area(s) of expertise providing guidance and direction both internally within Adherent (e.g. to Sales, Customer Support, Marketing, Product and other GRCT members via relevancy assessment queries) and externally to customers and prospective customers. Mentor and guide junior analysts on best practices for content creation and quality control, helping to foster a culture of excellence within the team. Promptly and accurately answer all “Ask our Experts” queries that are assigned to you by the Senior Quality Assurance Lead (Regulatory Content) in accordance with your specific areas of expertise, etc. Lead topic, sector and/or geographical SME “pods” for designated subject areas, coordinating efforts with other primary and/or secondary SMEs for that area of expertise to ensure consistency, alignment, effective knowledge sharing and collaboration on marketing material development. Maintain the Content Boundary Documents for your responsible areas and ensure that all updates are immediately flagged to Marketing for inclusion in the customer-facing Regulatory Content Sheets ; Dedicate time each week to track global regulatory developments for your specific area(s) of expertise which may include joining LinkedIn or other online discussion groups, attending online webinars and podcasts, reading newsletter or other online regulatory content subscriptions, attending conferences. Build thought leadership and develop your SME profile by establishing and growing a professional online presence which may include creating, publishing and sharing insightful content in C2P, LinkedIn, Adherent’s website, or other similar platforms via regulatory updates, news comments, blogs and/or whitepapers on trending and/or emerging regulatory developments. Actively engage in the GRCT biweekly SME brainstorming sessions by flagging trending and ‘hot’ developments within your SME area(s) that the Senior Director Global Regulatory Compliance can discuss with Marketing for potential inclusion as a website blog, white paper, newsletter, social media post. Ensure that your SME profile on the Adherent website is up to date by providing any new information that may be relevant to your profile to Marketing. Represent the Company, as an SME, at industry and trade events, such as ICPHSO, AAFA and similar; Maintain a forward-looking perspective by highlighting emerging regulatory trends and potential changes in laws and regulations with a focus on horizon scanning across the full regulatory spectrum, e.g. looking for signals that a potential draft regulation is going to be published, monitoring enforcement of key regulations in your SME areas, looking ahead to potential new areas of regulatory expansion and flag these to the Content R&D team for consideration for the content road map. Work with Senior Director Global Regulatory Compliance to ensure continued alignment and development of GRCT SME Mobilisation Strategy; Engage in business development by supporting sales, accounts and Customer Support teams on calls with existing and prospective customers. This may include participating in calls with customers deemed a churn or downsell risk in order to understand whether there are any regulatory content improvements, gaps or other issues that can be improved upon to mitigate that risk. Maintain Awareness of existing Knowledge Partners (KPs) in your SME area and assist KP Coordinator to identify potentially new KPs as required. KRA 3: Monitoring and research Take on a leadership role in our monitoring and research efforts including the development of a strategic approach to tracking regulatory changes, ensuring our clients receive the most accurate and timely information. Monitor regulatory developments for specified countries, sectors and/or topics; Ensure a comprehensive and reliable bank of sources of regulatory information is built up and maintained to ensure effective and optimal monitoring; Own and maintain Country Monitoring Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for specified countries, ensuring sources of regulatory information and any useful information to aid monitoring is recorded and current; Conduct general research in the field of global regulations and standards, taking on more complex and technical research tasks; Leverage advanced monitoring tools and technologies, including AI, to maximize efficiency and promptness in capturing regulatory information. Strategically monitor, assess, identify & report regulatory changes applicable to selected products, countries and/or policy areas, in response to specific customer needs e.g. requirements projects, assessments. KRA 4: C2P platform Self-publish regulatory content directly into the C2P platform ensuring the information is structured, accurate, and aligned with internal conventions and quality standards. Oversee the quality and reliability of all C2P database content, ensuring our clients receive timely, high-quality, and consistently reliable regulatory information. Review and release content entered by non-self publishing Regulatory Compliance Specialists/Analysts for C2P, either from the Review and Release (R&R) queue or directly assigned by self-releasing team members seeking review based on the Senior’s SME topics. Provide feedback if required as regards edits made to entries during R&R process - particularly for new GRCT members. Lead the strategic development of content for the C2P platform, ensuring all information is meticulously structured, accurate, and aligned with our quality standards and that the C2P database remains a gold standard for accuracy, timeliness, and expert insights. Assist in training new / developing GRCT members with regards to C2P data entry conventions, Adherent regulatory topic coverage, etc. Collaborate directly with product and engineering teams to suggest enhancements to the C2P platform's functionality and user experience, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of our clients. KRA 5: Sustainability and Product Compliance Solution (PCS) Platform Participate in the initial and ongoing validation of AI-generated outputs for the New Product (Sustainability and PCS), ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and internal quality standards. Provide subject matter expertise to evaluate the accuracy, relevance, and completeness of AI-generated content. Collaborate with Engineering, Technology, Product, Marketing and Content R&D teams to refine prompts, improve regulatory mappings, and deliver structured feedback to enhance model performance. Contribute to the development of internal best practices for the responsible and effective use of AI in regulatory monitoring and content creation. Participate in calls with customers trialling the new product if required with a view to understanding any regulatory content gaps, errors or other issues that they may have experienced during the trial.
