Job Description

We are looking for a Staff Engineer or strong Senior Engineer to join our Core Detection Team (CDT) as a technical anchor. This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership. You will be responsible for driving architectural decisions, mentoring engineers, establishing engineering standards, and ensuring consistent technical execution across CDT. You will work closely with CDT's Principal Engineer and Engineering Manager, acting as the primary technical reference. While remaining partially hands-on when needed, your primary responsibility will be technical leadership, coordination, and execution oversight. Key responsibilities Be the primary day-to-day technical reference. Define and maintain team architecture, ensuring alignment with CDT's global architectural direction. Drive technical execution across planning, refinement, estimation, and delivery. Identify technical risks early and coordinate mitigation plans. Ensure technical quality through design reviews, code reviews, and engineering standards. Own technical debt prioritization and architectural consistency. Partner with the Engineering Manager to improve delivery predictability and execution visibility. Mentor engineers and support technical growth across the teams. Collaborate with CDT's Architect on decisions with cross-team or long-term impact. Contribute to executive communications when technical context is required. What you’ll need to succeed 3+ years of experience in technical leadership roles (Tech Lead, Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer,or equivalent). Strong background in software architecture and system design. Proficiency in one or more systems-level languages (Python, Rust, Go,, C, C++). Strong communication skills and ability to influence technical decisions across teams. Experience mentoring engineers and driving technical standards. Strong ownership mindset and ability to operate autonomously. Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM development environments. Experience working with distributed or internationally-distributed engineering teams. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (Upper-intermediate/B2 level). Nice-to-haves (not required, but a plus!) Experience in firmware security, binary analysis, or embedded systems. Background in reverse engineering or security research. Familiarity with detection rules development & threat intelligence concepts. Knowledge in static analysis, parsing, or compiler theory.
